A quick update on the Running For Something documentary film

March 20th, 2010 by Evan

Greetings everyone, hope you’ve all been doing well! It seems like forever ago since October when the Running For Something event took place, but rest assured that lots of hard work has been going on with the Running For Something documentary production team! We’ve been hard at work organizing our footage from the shoot, cataloging and organizing almost 1TB of footage (that’s over 1,000 gigabytes). We hit a minor roadblock in the process of getting the film produced and edited but we’re now back on track and very excited about this film. It’s our hope that it’ll truly inspire people to help New Castle and their own communities to be supportive of the skateboarding and BMX-riding youth of their area.

We’ll keep you posted with updates and possibly even pieces of the film as it comes together. We’re working hard for you guys and we trust that it’s all going to pay off in the end.

Running For Something Day 2 complete!

October 17th, 2009 by Evan

What an amazing day… A truly blessed day. Anton woke up this morning feeling sore, but much better than expected. He set out from day 1’s finish line for his 30-mile journey to just outside Greens Fork Indiana, a small town on state road 38 and just over 6 hours later he made it.

Folks that means tomorrow he has around 16 miles to run and he’ll be arriving at Baker Park in New Castle Indiana. Please show up to show your support, this many has truly given everything he has and then some for the youth of New Castle and he deserves an overwhelming reception tomorrow.

We’ll see you there at 1:00!

Running For Something Day 1 complete!

October 17th, 2009 by Evan

Running For Something day 1Yesterday was day 1 of Running For Something’s 3-day journey! It was a complete success with Anton finishing his 30-mile goal for the day! There were some struggles and weather issues but the bottom line is that the goal is completed and Anton is 30 miles closer to New Castle, his finish line!

This morning we’re headed out to the starting point for the day, which is the same spot where he finished last night. He’s feeling very well this morning and he’s ready to complete the mission for the day. We’ll keep you posted via Facebook; if you’d like to follow along please add Evan Agee as a friend! I’ll be posting updates as well as photos throughout the day.

Don’t forget that tomorrow at 1:00PM at Baker Park in New Castle there’s going to be a finish line party to celebrate the completion of Running For Something. There will be pizza and drinks as well as skating and BMX riding, so tell everyone you know!!!!

Meet Karl Poynter, professional BMX rider from New Castle Indiana

October 7th, 2009 by antonpayne

Karl PointerI am proud to call this guy a friend, and if you know anything about BMX riding then you know who he is, his name is Karl Poynter. Karl is a resident in the community where we are trying to get this park for these kids. Karl and his brother have done some amazing things in the community from going the scene from virtually nothing to now hundreds of riders and skates. The two of them have also tried with much to get a legit BMX/Skate park in the community and have faced the same battles we all have faced for over 10 years now. Karl is one of the greatest BMX riders that the sport has to offer and he is even a better man, our community is blessed to have him and his passion as a part of our community. We interviewed Karl asking him some of the questions that we believe you would want to ask him yourself, so have a look. Thanks Karl for all you have and will continue to do for the sport, our community, and people all around the world!
